They were apropos counter-quotes.  You're not the only one who has lived in a desert before, nor the only one who has that opinion of it.  Since my experience of 'desert life' was doubtless considerably different than yours, (unless you are recently ex-military), my opinion doesn't agree with yours.  That's alright too; some like it hot & sweaty and some don't.

Well, thank you for serving.  Yes, I am prior military, Navy 1994-1998 and I did spend some time over there, but I am sure that my time was much different than yours....we were in Jeballi, much different.  Any way, I know they were counter-quotes, you like to do that sort of thing.  Enjoy.
