Using the 'ignore' button only contributes to one's own 'ignorance'.  One won't ever learn anything from anybody if one has to use a 'button' to silence someone just because they have a different opinion.

     Sorry my bad.

In that case then, ignore whatever makes you happy.  I'm quite certain in that scenario, happiness will be a two-way street as some people are never happy and others are happy to avoid them.

...one word "IGNORE" ...

So why is it that you are manifestly unable to follow your own advice?  Ignoring someone includes _not_ talking about them, around them or referring to them in any way, (otherwise, they're not being "ignored").  This is a relatively simple concept which you continue to fail to grasp.

Even this new thread you've started in the off topic forum is nothing more than an indirect trolling, (you've actually stated the word in the subject title so, a denial would be pointless).

I'd agree with one rather significant clarifcation; using the "ignore" function on FC only means that the one using it cannot see the subsequent posts of the person they set on "ignore".  It _does not_ mean that the 'ignored' poster is silenced in any way since others continue to see the posts which the 'self-blinded' one cannot.  Doubtless this realization is somehat frustrating to 'control-freak trolling princesses' like 'sammy'.

there are different types of trolling on the internet. so ya this is a generic statement if you will.

"Trolling" is somewhat broadly-defined; " ... _initiating_ posts of an inflammatory, extraneous, or 'baiting' nature in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal discussion."

While such broad definitions do not restrict a "troll" from initiating a trolling thread, they do generally exclude a reply to an initial 'trolling post' which does not meet the 'baiting' criteria, (otherwise, a situation where anyone gets "called a troll" as an empty insult can occur).

for example you made a vid on youtube pple trolling you saying rude things about you.. something along those lines are called trolling

That's one example however, more often than not, someone gets labeled as a "troll" merley for disagreeing with the one calling the dissenter by that label.  For instance, "troll: One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument." -- Urban dictionary

I'd refine that to include unintentional disruptions which are _caused_ by what the troll posted INITIALLY, (not by subsequent replies to that initial trolling post).

I have read plenty of news articles that come off as "trolling". If a person wants unbiased information then that person must read from an unbiased point of view.

Is there actually such a thing as an "unbiased point of view"?

Yep, (c.f., the now locked "Hey Falcon" thread in the off topic forum).

The two questions weren't actually rhetorical parallels though since all human points of view come from a subjective perspective and are inherently "biased" to varying degrees.  The best that can be expected is for a presentation of facts without any patina of subjective bias overlaying those facts, (naturally, what is considered 'factual' also can vary from person to person, despite objective evidence of a fact).

so you are saying having a referee at a ball game is pointless? have you ever been to a debate when you do not know enough of either side to actually have an opinion? All im saying is when I read a dictionary I cannot feel appalled when something stikes me as out of the ordinary. The variance of language from generation to generation is sometimes a parallel to occurring events. how many words for one meaning do we have over the course of time? You question whether there can be an unbiased fact so I question whether "trolling" in the form of words is even a possibility.
