Why do ppl do drugs

I think it is horrible! I believe people do drugs because somewhere inside of them they are in some kind of horrible pain that they can't share with anyone. Although my heart goes out to them I can't have that kind of element in my life it's just too dangerous. Be strong and stand firm. You beat it walk away and just keep on going. False. "Weed", (marijuana), is a plant which contains the drug THC, (tetrahydrocannabinol). Drugs can be, (and are), both natural and synthetic.

I don't care how much your desire to censor someone else who has just as much freedom to post here as you do causes you to keep making censorous requests.  Posting and quoting what was posted is neither "following" nor 'stalking'.  These are in fact, false accusations stemming from faulty perceptions. Once again, any FC member can quote and reply to posts made by any other member and you're false characteriztions directly indicate that you remain unable to comprehend that fact.

Additionally, you were incorrect about "weed" not being a drug.  I provided contrary evidence which showed that you were in error.  That was contextual to the post, no matter how much you want to make false complaints.

Just like people take a drink to unwind or have a glass of wine to mellow out, some people take drugs and I guess if some drugs (not the hard ones) werent so horribly addictive and could be used in moderation, there wouldn't be a problem.  But with so many people dying from their addiction to drugs, I don't understand what would make anyone even want to try it.

Let's go with your theory here and I say opium is not a drug either. It comes from the plant Papaver somniferum as does heroin, morphine, codeine and others. Everyone knows heroin and the other drugs I mentioned have absolutely NO bad side effects like addiction and dying when you OD - they are just from a plant, right? Ooooh, cocaine is derived from a plant too isn't it?! Yeah, those harmless little coca leaves gettin' a bad rap all the way around. Who doesn't want a friend, child, or spouse taking them down over some harmless white powder or a nice chunk of crack?

I could go on with a whole list of 'plants' (hmm, how IS alcohol made...), but it's not worth it. The [un]original statement that "weed isn't a drug" has been used to death. I'm surprised you didn't also add, "God put all these plants on the earth for man to use, so they can't be bad."

its not a man made substance..its a plant that grows...

man made substance is worse isnt it? so why berate me on the subject where this is a fact? it boggles my mind..who does worse nature or human? you taking it a black and white issue.. first of all nature dont control us only we do. its ppls will to make a good or bad. so dont blame the plant blame yourself..

Marijuana, ("weed"), is a plant which contains the DRUG tetrahydrocannabinol, (also known as delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol or, THC), which is the principal psychoactive constituent of the cannabis plant.  It's still a drug, even if it's not manmade.  The information you posted was inaccurate, (which is such a shock that it was duly noted).

Yes, although of different species and phylums. Although the opium plant is indeed in the same family as the common poppy, the drug part of opium grows on Papaver somniferum aka the opium poppy. The drug is harvested by scoring the seed pod of the plant, and gathering the "latex" that drips out.

Once again, yes - opium poppies are plants.  Marijuana is a plant.  Both contain mind-altering _drugs_ when processed.

As the answer has been given several times already, (and you even quoted your own inaccuracy above); "weed" or, marijuana, is a plant which contains the drug, THC.

Last time: it's a plant which contains a drug therefore, it's both a plant and a drug, (sidebar:  this is what was being obliquely referred to in the 'dumbing-down or wising-up' thread; sometimes, one can only 'dumb things down' to a point where the other person remains unlikely to 'wise-up').  Thanks for the supportive evidence, 'sammy'.

Many share my same opinion, to escape their reality, I does not justify what they do, but who are we to judge. Theres a story behind all of that drug abuse. I know, I lived it really close with my father, and Its not easy and it is really painful.

I think people do drugs to run away from reality. Some from peer pressure. I saw people and still know of people on drugs. Sad but true!
