Age of acceptance

What age were you when you've started to like or accept yourself as an person? Why?
I was in my late 30's when this happened to me.My confidence help me grow.

Wow this is a hard question for me? Why? Well I got married very young, I had and abusive husband that made me feel I was no good, so I didn't learn to accep myself for along time. Way after I left him. I would say if I had to choose an age I would choose around my late 30's too.

      When I was in kindergarten, on a piece of paper I drew both of my two hands- left and right- going finger by finger with a colored pencil. After I was finished, I saw the contour of my two hands on that piece of paper and realize that I was a real person. That is real early age of acceptance!

I don't like myself I'm still trying to piece out the real me. I often dwell about my past and all the mistakes I've done and all the miss opportunities I might have had. I wonder if the correct word for myself is resignation.
