How do you get parents to stop arguing?

maybe ask them how they met... ask about their life
before kids and adulthood. if i could get my parents
to talk about the good old days, it seemed like they
would start talking to eachother for a little while and
reminisce... it was nice.

maybe dig out some old photos of them! that always
strikes up conversation

If they don't have a smartphone already with a text/data plan maybe encourage them to get one. Their arguments while messaging each will not be as noticeable or maybe they'll be distracted completely with the device like all the drones out there I see at the train stations.

On a serious note. In marriage there has to be some compromise and a willingness to listen to each other. If they can't work out their differences maybe some marriage counseling might be a consideration.

On a day that everything seems to be fine in your home or when you are alone with your mom or dad, just ask "how can I help?", when they say help with what? Just use a soft tone and let them know how you feel when they argue around you. Be sure that you stay in a safe zone because no matter what response you get here;  only you know your safety zone at your house.

I wished that'd help but my dad's a very obdurate man.

He's the one that got my family here to the states so he's the one who makes the call.


And yes, they argue about me.

But all i'm doing is going to school and be active in extracurriculars.

It's not like I'm being a bad kid.

i don't. it's way to scary and you know parents won't stop if you're there. sometimes you might be able to get in between them
