Cutting Down the Grocery Bill - Raise your own food?

Folks who do "square foot gardening" swear by it. It reportedly takes very little space, can be done practically anywhere, and you can even germinate your own seeds in a paper towel. I tried the latter, and indeed, all the seeds I put in a damp paper towel sprouted within a few days. Depending on what you like to eat, growing your own veggies (especially tomatoes) can help cut down your food bill, but it does mean a lot of work.

We try we have a little garden that we use for tomatoes, zucchini, squashes, eggplant etc. sometimes the garden is plentiful and other times it is not . We also raise chickens to get eggs which sve a lot considering the eggs we buy usually cost 2.99 a dozen. Plus we have about 4 peach trees which is a delicious fruit. this saves a lot in the summer.

It takes more money and time to raise your own food if you dont have a large amount and selling to others. Its not worth it less you have a lot alot. Easier and cheaper to just buy it in the store. Work on a large beef farm.

If I had my own land I would definitelly grow my own veggies.
