Surveys are not that simple
« on: April 18, 2012, 06:27:31 am »
I take online surveys and for the most part I do get compensated for my time. Not much, but I do get something. However, I hate it when I intend to take a 10 or 15 minute survey and I take 10 or 15 minutes giving up my information only to not qualify for the survey. I do not mind taking surveys, but I hate it when I'm asked for my personal information and 10 minutes after I start giving up my information,  I get a message saying,  sorry or unfortunately you do not qualify for this survey. Do anyone have an opinion about this?

I did forget to mention that on several occasions I may take a survey and never receive compensation for it.

I will agree that it's frustrating to spend 10 minutes filling out a survey only to be denied. I often feel like they should be able to determine if I qualify or not within the first couple minutes or first few questions.

 i do not ever remember spending ten to fifteen minutes to qualify for a survey. i think sometimes it feels that long because we are having a dry spell qualifying for surveys. i know it get frustrating but hang in there. i can usually qualify for one or two surveys per day,but i might try in morning and zippo and go back later in the day and qualify. i think its just a matter of persistence and patience. hope you have better luck in the future. have a great day!!!

I have had very similar experiences and have given up on most of the surveys now other than the ones that are the $1-3 ones directly form FC that will at least pay 1 cent if you don't qualify, and even with those sometimes I don't get the 1 cent. so for me it has been hit and miss even with them but I am more willing to take my chances to get at least the 1 cent than to put a lot of time into one, get DQ'd and end up with nothing but lost time and effort.

I know that some of the surveys I take I have to answer so many questions to qualify, your age, are you married, are you employed, what industry, zip code, household income before taxes, children, race, and then they mat want to know if you suffer from any illness, do you have a cell phone, and for me it goes on and on. FC surveys do give you something for effort.

The Surveys Part of this website are the same as any other website. It takes about 10-15 minutes to see if you qualify for each particular survey, and once they tell you that you have qualified the survey will complete.

This happens to ME all the time! You are SO right 10-15 minutes and they say sorry you don't qualify!! We should post the sights that don't do this!! I think MyView gives you 100 point credit even if you don't qualify though, I hear your frustration!! >:(

Many times I have had the 10-15 minute qualifying experience only to be told I'm not right for the survey.  I have come to expect and accept that part of the process, however, sometimes I am convinced that I actually DID qualify because the questions are so targeted and keep going on and on.  I'm thinking "yes!" Finally! I'm getting to take a survey and THEN I come to the page that says I didn't qualify.  It's baffling.  I guess it makes it really special when I do actually qualify and make it to the end with the promised compensation! BTW, thanks, FC, for the 1 cent consolation compensations!  They're awesome!

I have to add this is the second time I signed up for a survey site and you are supposed to get credit for registering and then confirming your email address-I never get the confirmation and NO CREDIT   >:(

Some survey providers put their demographic pre-qualifying questions at the beginning of a survey, some put them at the end.  It can be  disheartening when they're at the end because one gets the impression that they've gathered the survey subject data they wanted and then dodged paying for it by DQing the survey-taker due to demographic parameters which they could have mentioned upfront.  This is often perceived as 'dishonest', (and it may well be if they're using the survey subject data despite not paying to obtain it).

Agreed!, surveys are just a waste of time and not worth doing at all

That may be your opinion however, I've made over $350 from completing surveys.  It depends on individual persistence.
