Steven Seagal....Leading Man role?
« on: April 12, 2012, 07:55:15 pm »
I could see Steven Seagal portraying a movie character like 'Robert Kincaid' in the film "Bridges of Madison County" if Clint Eastwood hadn't accepted this role. It'd be a stretch and a challenge for Seagal, but I believe Steven Seagal starring in a romantic film could be a convincing performance.

Well I doubt that Seagal could do much anymore. He is older and much bigger then he was before.

Richard Gere still makes romantic films and he's in his 60's  ;D. So I think Seagal could pull it off too.  :cat:

I don't know about that!! Have you've seen him lately?? He is big as a house!! He looks like he has put on about 40 Lbs since his last movie. I don't believe his would fit in a leading man role, Just like Chuck Norris. Let's be real these guys are really not actors, they got into acting because they were good in their previous professions. Just like "The Terminator" there really isn't much dialog in those movies.

I'm sorry but I can't picture Steven Seagal in another romantic. He should just stick to what he's been doing all these years.

I disagree  >:(  ;D because I can!    As time and evolution passes so does outdated forms and brands of acting methods(Chayefsky, Shakespeare, and any other type of theater acting you can name) and that goes for the aged old Hollywood film acting styles (John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, and so on). Steven Seagal's accomplished acting format is so evolutionary it makes previous performers look debatable (Arny Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Hugh Jackman, and the list goes on). They're all great actors in their own right, but with a Seagal film a viewer gets 'real experiences' and convincing performances because Seagal lives out the film roles he's ever directed and produced with his production company Steamroller, dtv movies, etc. Don't get me wrong I like these Hollywood performers, but they haven't lived the life of an authentic bodyguard, mercenary, professional martial arts trainer, secret agent, and peace officer/border patrol in real life. Whereas, Seagal does.

LMAO! That is really funny! ;D ;D Seriously, I haven't laughed this hard at written words on FC in awhile. Are you the President of The Seagal Fan Club? I ask because it sounds like you are writing press releases for him.

I can't see Steven Seagal in any type of romance movie or a leading role in a movie period outside of ones he might directly fund or go straight to DVD.

Hey, you never know. It might get YOU a part in one of his movies and I'm sure it would pay far more than FC does in a day. 8)

I'm having an extremely difficult time picturing Steven Segal playing a leading man role.
