I do every night as well. It is a good habit and I have so much to be thankful for. Prayers don't always have to be about asking

I don't pray but always thank God for letting me wake up every morning.

By that, are you implying that some hypothetical deity wouldn't let you wake up unless you 'prayed' at it?
