From all indications, astral projection is by far the least expensive option which offers the widest range of travel destinations.  There may be penalties for excess baggage however, these aren't monetary.

Now that is funny.....I like that idea, astral projection....good one!   ;D

I have flown cross country and across the ocean, did a train in Italy/Sicily.  I haven't ever traveled by bus.  Driven cross country.  But of the three choices, train as long as the night time sleeping quarters are better then they were on the Italian train.

Most relaxing train, of course quickest plane so depends on why I'm traveling.

Since it may not be as much fun as a more visceral, physical experience my preference is for travel by car if I want to see and experience what I'm travelling through.  Trains and planes bypass such experiences until a destination is reached.  Sometimes, the destination isn't the point of travel.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.
