Titanic in 3 D
« on: April 09, 2012, 04:38:59 pm »
Has anyone seen the movie in 3D? I liked the movie Titanic, I was just wondering if it was any good in 3 D. I know they are rushing to cash in on the 3D craze, so maybe it is not as good. If it is I would probably go see it. I think Saving Private Ryan would be awsome in 3 D

I saw it when it first came out. Seen it since on VHS, DVD and Blu Ray. I saw it in 3D this weekend. They didn't do that much in terms of 3D, I liked seeing it on big screen, but not sure it is worth it for the extra money..

I already saw the movie Titanic in the theatres when the movie came out in the 90's and have the DVD at home. Maybe when the 3D is released on disc I might pick one up again, but I don't have a desire to see this in the movies. Prices are high to begin with and seeing a movie I've already seen even with the added effects is not motivating enough for me.

If they are re-showing it in regular 2D, I may consider catching a matinee as it would be nice to see the movie on the big screen again.  Watching it on my TV just doesn't do justice to some of the ship sinking scenes.

But I wouldn't see it in 3D.  As the movie was not filmed in 3D, I can't think of much they'd be able to do to convert it to a 3D movie.  Would be more like Superman Returns in 3D which I was not impressed with.  Outside of any visual shots that was done digitally that would be easier to convert to 3D, I wouldn't think it would be worth the extra money.  Perhaps seeing the water rushing, or things "falling" at you may be okay - but that wouldn't be enough to compel me to shell out the cash.

Well thanks for the response. I see that one has seen it in 3d and stated that the 3 d was not that much, which means to me they hurried up to try and get more money on the movie. So I guess I will not see it again. It is good to learn these things.
