Sexual double Standards - Men can sleep around, but women can't

Do you agree or disagree with my male friend's theory

He basically said that men have to put forth a lot of effort in order to sleep with a lot of women (spending money, saying all the right things etc..On the other hand, women don't have to do much to get a lot of men to sleep with her she just has to be there.

He also said that women are at a higher risk of contracting diseases. There are also chances of unplanned pregnancies that can lead to single motherhood.

There is some statistically-significant substance to what your friend hypothesizes, (it's not really a theory yet).
By the way, ask him to say aloud , 'statistically-significant substance' as quickly as possible, 3 times in a row the next time he's been drinking, (this is to distract him slightly from hitting on you ... yes 'Virginia', your males friends are hitting on you or, they're gay).

There's other factors such as what the woman or man wants in a partner or if they just want to have sex etc.

I don't think either sex should "sleep around" if they want to live a good life, but that's just me.  If it works for you, then fine.

its in men's nature to sleep around and try to impregnate as many women as possible. it is in women's nature to try to hook one man and try to stop him from banging other women. stopping men from sleeping around is suppressive to his nature, stopping women from trying to lure men into the trap of monogamy is to suppress their nature. technically, i guess the middle road would be cheating.

you said in biblical times a women could be stoned to death i think that could happen today there was a news report about  that. well i think the "pill' had somewhat to do wiyh sleeping around making it easier maybe i'm old fashion but i never wanted to sleep around always wanted a boyfriend

personally i think it is a lot of crap. It is so men can justify sleeping around. The old saying what is good for the goose is good for the gander. I don't think any one should be sleeping around. to be just going out to get sex is not good thinkof all that is out there that you might catch, let along if you don't know the person you could get hut or more.

Now that i completely disagree... absolutely not... men and women are created equally... we shouldn't be like barney stinson from himym... (good thing he isn't like that in real life). We should respect each other and i believe it's not about the quantity of women that us guys have slept with but the quality of life every individual contributes to the world.n No stereotyping...

Before I married I was very happy to sleep around as much as possible.  I strongly disagreed with the idea that women can't do the same, in fact, I hoped at that time that the women in my area would be eager to sleep around as much as possible.

I think that is basically true. If a woman is willing, most men will sleep with her no questions asked. However, just because a man is willing, does not necessarily mean he will get some. Taken as a whole, most women will be more cautious and most men will jump right in. However, this is becoming a more dated way of life. Nowadays, most women are not picky either. I am not sure why or how it happened, but it seems society's view on sex has transformed immensely.
