Toddlers and Tiaras
« on: April 05, 2012, 08:54:59 pm »
I cannot believe this show!!! This is sooo horrible!!! I feel like this is a horrible concept !! I cannot believe how these parents are!! I watch this show and get shocked I saw an episode today and there is a mom putting her 4 year old on a salad diet!!! Can you believe that at 4 i didnt even know what a diet was!!! These parents are waxing there children, tanning them, fixing their teeth this is ridiculous then showing them off to the world!! Showing them there looks is what is important in life !!! And when they loose they feel they failed and arent good enough !!! And when they when they grow up spoiled and feel better then everyone else. So low or super high self esteem. I just feel this is an awful example showing these young children. What do you guys think?

Totally do not agree with this show.  Trying to make these children into adults....so the parents can live vicariously through them!!  Need to take this show off the air......

I dont understand how this type of show is approved, and how these type of paegents get approval. :dontknow: These children dont have a childhood at all, and they lose their innocence and act like adults, imitating stuff from catwalks, which does not look good to me. Parents, usually moms keep forcing things on their kids, and they live their fantasies through their kids, which is not healthy for the kids. I hope somebody does something to stop these stupid paegents.

Yes, the mothers are just trying to relive their childhood through their daughters.

I hate the concepts of beauty pageants in general, but it is especially atrocious to force a child to partake in them.

I agree with crazy zoo.  I cannot watch without thinking of JonBenet.  I could never let my children do such a thing.  Kids are growing up too fast as it is...why would you want to have your 2 year old look like she's 20?

I cannot see putting a child through all the stuff they have to go through, what is it teaching them. They need to just be children.  the parents are trying to live through their children. It is so wrong.

I don’t’ watch TV, but reading this post makes me think these parents must understand their children are unique individuals. It is sad indeed to condition young innocent children at such an early age to seek fame and fortune and everything ugly about the material world robbing their childhood. :angry7: Children should be allowed to be children. It’s a show not worth watching. Just flip the channel and watch something else more wholesome and let the ratings plummet.
