I am a teenager looking for a  babysitting job in an area I've recently moved to. Does anyone know how I should go about looking for one?

Craigslist is a good way to find a family who needs babysitting.

I would suggest that you make sure you are organized first. Before looking for babysitting jobs, you should have references readily available, become CPR certified, and determine where you would like to babysit (your home or their's). Being CPR certified and having references can easily put you ahead of the competition. After you have these things, try creating and passing out flyers or posting an ad in your church bulletin. I found another great place to advertise your babysitting services is at the local community college. They have ade boards that people read when they are searching for products to buy, jobs to apply for and other services. Many parents who have gone back to school are looking for safe, reliable babysitters. If you use any of these suggestions, I would love to know if they helped. Good luck -

I agree with craigslists. I've had luck on there or on a site called Care.com http://www.care.com

Some great ideas, I will add the American Red Cross offers a babysitting course as well as CPR and First Aid.  Sometimes they have a day long deal where you can take all of it at one time.  They often have names of people looking for babysitting after the course is completed.  If there is one in your area, it's another good place to start.  Also, check the rates in your new area so you can charge competitively.  Best of luck to you! :cat:

Maybe you could put something in a local free classified paper? Or spend some time at a park and go talk to parents with kids, interact with them so they can see what a good babysitter you'd make.
