Your email address needs to be verified.  This is required if you want to get paid by Paypal.

It is easy to get your email verified by paypal - they send you an email that you reply to or open a link from and give them a code. (It's been a while since I did it.) Also, if you need a bank account and have a bad history with a bank (they closed account) or bad credit, try Academy Bank (a division of Armed Services Bank) in most WalMart stores; they have second chance banking. Check Cashing places would cash their checks if you don't have a bank account but it would be expensive.
Paypal is the best way to go.

I have been getting a check for a couple of months now and am considering switching to PayPal.  I have  been procrastinating on setting up an account with them. Guess I should bite the bullet and just do it  ;D

If you've ever used your Paypal account before, then your e-mail and your account are verified. They take out (and put right back in) a few cents and you just tell them the exact amount on the site to get verified. It's required to do so before you do any transaction through them, but it's super easy.

And don't listen to the people suggesting you get a check instead! Paypal is a thousand times more convenient!

Great thanks. I really rather not have to go into the bank to deposit a check so I am sold on it  ;)

You have to link your bank account to paypal to get verified. Hope this helps.

Your Paypal account doesn't automatically get verified just by using it, since you can use an unverified account. I've had some buyers on ebay that were unverified, but they were still accepted. You do need a bank account or credit card to verify it, since that is where they take out and put back the few cents you mentioned.

The purpose of getting a verified account at PAYPAL is that you are then able to use the account to make purchases. A verified PAYPAL account provides PAYPAL with a source of getting additional funds from you if you should make a purchase that costs more than your current account balance.  You can become verified by either providing a bank account or a credit card (not sure it has to be the PAYPAL credit card  which has a cost associated with it).

If you do not have/cannot afford a bank checking account, consider getting a savings account.  Usually a bank does not charge fees on saving accounts -- but be sure that the bank will accept direct (electronic) deposits and direct (electronic) withdrawals from the account before you go that route.

FC is not the only site that requires you to have a verified PAYPAL account in order to cash out to PAYPAL.  FC does give you the option of a check and/or direct deposit -- those options are not available on most other sites.

From the advertisements that I have heard if you don't have a checking account there are some check cashing stores that will cash any legitimate check. From what I have heard though their fees are astronomical. You can verify a paypal account either by having a a verified current credit card or bank account. The bank account can be checking or savings. Not only can you make purchases with your paypal account but you can also transfer funds to other people. Having a verified account helps to cut down on fraud.

Direct deposit is the easiest way to go!  Faster than a check, and there is no trip to the bank.

If you set up your account with PayPal they will have a ? by what a verified account means. Click the ? And it will tell you what you need to do. I use PayPal for all of my transactions and it's really simple. Good luck with PP and FC...

You mentioned that you don't have a bank acccount.  If you choose to receive a check instead you could probably cash it at Walmart customer service.  I think they charge 3.00 to cash it for you.  Paypal really is more convenient but you definitely have other options.
Have a great day!
