Consider that you may be contributing to what's wrong with the world.

Sometimes it does feel like the world is falling apart around us. Every time we turn on the news its bad, bad bad. We read the paper, its filled with murders, attacks and natural disasters. Gas prices are going up, food prices are going up, the cost of life is going up. Every time we get through one epidemic another comes sneaking in. There is always something wrong with the food we eat, medicines are being recalled, and every time we think we have a healthy diet we are proven wrong. Politics, war, famine, everything all at once bombards us without any sign of letting up. So I can truly understand when you say the world is sick, and maybe it is. The only thing we can do about it is to make at least our little part of this earth not so sick. Do everything you can to help others. Maybe help a struggling neighbor with a tank of gas if you can afford it. Babysit a child who's mother is ill. Donate to charities or volunteer for them. When disaster hits, stay as strong as possible so others see that there is a way through the storm. The world may be sick, but our world doesn't have to be all the time. We can smile when we cry and laugh when we are afraid. We can make the impossible possible if we try. :cat:

i dont think the world is much different than when i was younger many many years ago :) , we just hear about it more because of cable and internet.  when i was in high school , parents still killed their kids or spouses, a friend was murdered while sitting outside a laundry mat drying his gym clothes, a man just knocked on his car window, when he rolled it down ( yes i said rolled lol told you many years ago ), the man cut his throat stole his car threw him in  a ditch to die, he was only 18,  now you cant turn the tv or the computer on without reading about this stuff. it happened then you just didnt hear about it as much unless you were there

I think it is because moral values are at a all time low. Anything and everything goes and all of it is labeled normal these days. We take what we can get and forget about our neighbor. Take away respect for others and the rights of others and soon there is no peace anywheres. When far out radical groups take over countries more people die and more dangerous elements come into play that affect the entire world. Things are worse now, but things can get better if we help our neighbors more than we help ourselves. One thing I miss the most is knowing how people are doing in other states. They have terrible natural diasters and there story is a blurp on the news and then nothing more is said. Remember the old time grit magazine that told such stories and kept us all informed. I miss the way times were when I was growing up. When you knew your neighbors and neighbor helped neighbor without the need of getting paid for being kind.

The world is in the toliet. Our leaders are crooks and stupid, and the people are suffering for it. I believe things are going to get worse, especially the economy, so I hope everyone is getting prepared for hard times because the government won't be able to help you. I don't want to depend on the government anyways. I'll depend on myself, my family, and my God instead.

Nothing wrong with the World.  Still water and land, plants and animals, but more animals then anything else ...LOL

If people would seek God, then people would be happier,, but the World would still have nothing to do with it. Ohh well if people wouldn't contaminate the world we would have a better world.  :BangHead:  :binkybaby:  :bootyshake:  :bs:

Thanks for spreading some encouraging words, falcon.  How about this instead?  I think everyone gets discouraged when they see things happening that seem unjust, cruel and corrupt.  I think that we can remember that although we can't change others we can encourage those who need it and lift up someone who may be feeling even more discouraged than ourselves.  Getting out of yourself and helping others can really be a great way to brighten our own mood.  Hard to do when you don't feel like it, but a little kindness goes a long way.  I find I always get back more than I give when I help someone else.

The problem with the world today is people. Pride and greed is going to be the end of the world.

well what you going to do about it beside dwell on it? Reminding people about how "sick" the world is doesn't make things better.

A bit off topic here, but in regards to 'bullying'.  This has been something that has always gone on I imagine, and it is entirely within our nature it seems.  This was just as prevalent when I was younger and in school compared to how it is now.  Back then we generally knew how to handle it and were allowed to take care of it ourselves.  The simple solution was generally a fight.  The kid being bullied wasn't required to 'win' the fight in order to end the bullying.  He simply had to stand and didn't even need to stand tall.  It wasn't uncommon for the one being bullied to win as bullies tend to be a bit on the cowardly side, and although that doesn't mean they cannot fight it often means they will seek the first exit out of a confrontation where they are not viewing their position as superior.  These conflicts were valuable lessons, to the one being bullied, to the bully, and to all others watching.  Issues were mostly quickly resolved and there were seldom any real injuries other than a *bleep* nose or some scrapes or bruises.

Progressives now have this form of natural problem solving pretty much removed from the picture entirely.  Now instead of kids learning that they can address their own problems and take care of them, they are only learning that they have to depend upon others to take care of them...and this is a terrible lesson and breeds dependence and weakness of character.  They let the anger build up even more and go on these insane killing sprees and other forms of lunacy -- and all because we meddle in the natural actions/reactions of young children and teaching them that they are helpless to solve their woes.  It is funny also when you observer progressive tactics in politics and other matters and you will see they rely entirely upon bullying to accomplish their goals.
There are only 10 types of people in the world:  those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Yeah the world has gotten so bad these days. Crime is growing at a ridiculous rate as well as kids dropping out, unemployment, poverty. Everything is at an all time high. You think the world aint rough spend one week on the streets. You'll change your tune. And the worst part about it is the government wastes all its money on huge bailouts of hige company's and helping the rich get richer but if they were to take those billions they could help all of the underprivileged children in the world from having to go one more day without food, clothes, and necessity's maybe give them a chance in this world but no they'll stay under-educated, hungry, and sick. No one should have to live like that. but they will, probably there whole life. Yet were so far in debt why?? there are soo many people sitting on billions. People are selfish instead of selfless.
