Newbie: questions about length of posts

I've a few questions about what type of subject matter is on or off when posting.  Suppose it's about Iraq or the economy.  Or should we stay on safe subjects, should the comments be one liners.  that's what I've noticed, there's not much conversation or discourse; real short comments.  Is that what's required and is there a FAQ page around here?

I always hate it when I ask a question and no one helps me.

There's a Support forum on the main page of these boards, so there's usually a good place to ask your questions.

As for the length of your posts, it really shouldn't matter. It seems you can talk about anything you want here as well as long as it doesn't violate the TOS for being too explicit or offensive.
