I usually search for more information on items in the news but it's really up to you. Just search normally and don't rush. Here's a partial quote from the Administrator when the new search rewards were introduced in December:

It's easy - just use the search box on the toolbar for your day-to-day searching.  Every time you make four valid searches, you'll earn 1c; up to 5c per day (which takes at least 20 searches).  What is a "valid" search?  The toolbar is smart -- it will tell you immediately after you make four searches if they were accepted or rejected.  If you just quickly try to rack up searches without looking at the results, it wont be considered valid (but that's just one example -- there are many factors which determine if a search was valid).  If your searches are rejected, don't sweat it -- just try again.  The toolbar keeps track of how many searches you've made and how much you've earned from them.  It counts every search you make, even rejected ones, although you only get credit for valid sets of four searches.

So it's a good idea to click on your results before you start a new search. I've found that once the automated system decides one of your searches are invalid for any reason, there's a pretty good chance you could have the search rewards freeze up on you. That happened to me last month but freed up again when the new month started and the system apparently reset. Now I'm getting my 5 cents a day once more. Just vary your searches and check your results and you should be fine.

you can search for just about anything...and i search for the same things over again.

I had trouble understanding searching in the beginning but I have managed to learn how to do it right. My advice is to keep it simple. I search for people or places or current events. That's my advice. You get one cent for every four searches if your searches are valid. If any one of the four is not considered valid by the computer, you will not get your cent. Like I have said, keep it simple. And I will add, take your time. Don't rush. Be certain to click on results or at least one result. After the fourth search, you will get a message telling you if your search was valid or not valid. I have gotten good at getting paid for searching.

once you install t program its easy to use. Just do it the same way you would with any other search toolbar
