The best shampoo and conditioner I have found for greasy hair is Aussie.  I used to have to wash my hair every day, but since I switched to Aussie I only have to wash it every other day and sometimes every third day.  Try that and I hope it works for you like it did for me.

I too have very greasy hair (face, skin, you name it...) and shower everyday.  Occasionally I skip a day, and boy I feel it.  Because of your overactive oils, I don't think it's that bad to shower (or at least wash your hair), as it would be worse to leave the oil/dirt stay.

I use Aveda products (my hair gets picky and when products change it takes forever to find new ones that my hair "likes).  When I wash, I typically wash my hair twice and then condition.  Once a week I use a deep cleaning shampoo vs a regular one during the week.  I found the double shampoo works nicely for my hair/oil issues.

I also use 3 different shampoos - one is the deep clean, then 2 different normal ones.  When I use one product for more than a week, my hair gets weird for some reason.  Maybe try finding a second shampoo product and alternate every few days - see if that helps you out.  May be you are like me and your hair/skin "adapts" to the product so it becomes ineffective, but it you switch it up, the products work better?

I've pretty much tried EVERY shampoo out there and my favorite is Simply U. They sell it at Wal Mart in a large pump style bottle, it's inexpensive and really does the job.  :angel11:It's sulfate and paraben free which means it won't foam. But just because something is foaming, doesn't mean it's working. It doesn't put build up in your hair and you'll find it a lot more manageable that way! There are so many more pros I could tell you about but I would go on and on. I can go 2 days at a time without washing my hair now. It's a lot softer and doesn't tangle as much. I'm completely in love with this shampoo
Also when you wash your hair, do not use a bunch of shampoo; use a little at a time. If washing it the first time doesn't help, repeat! I learned this in a book from a professional stylist in New York who manages the girls hair you see on the commercials. You'll most likely have to wash your hair 2 times but it pays off. Then, condition. But condition only the ends, and never the top. (makes it greasy again)

In regards to your comment about foaming.  Most products that are involved in cleaning add a saponifier to them strictly for the purpose of converting fat/oil to soap.  This is not necessary for cleaning and is simply done because most people assume, as you suggested, that if something doesn't lather up than it isn't effective.
There are only 10 types of people in the world:  those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I like to change shampoos often, too. Aussie products are very good and I also like Mane 'n Tail shampoo (it really makes your hair grow fast tho').

Haven't tried Simply U yet, but will definitely check it out next time at Wal Mart. Thanks, dymondzncurlz810!

you might try wasing it everyday but only use shampoo every OTHER time, it might help some of the buildup of shampoo residue.
