No PERSON should be abused.  Elderly abuse is an even larger problem these days.

Yes, abuse in any form (physical, verbal, emotional) should never be tolerated. Some people (men and women) seem to get off on that kind of control and it's disgusting.

Good point because verbal is unacceptable too.

One time me and my ex-husband were on vacation golfing.  They paired us up with another coupon.  The man berated the woman each and every shot.  He called her stupid once or twice and just said things that I felt were abusive.  I was getting more and more upset.  The man got up to hit his ball and he hit it just enough for it to bounce up and hit him really hard in the crotch.  I almost fell out of the cart laughing.  I could not contain myself. I still laugh thinking about it.  He was pretty quiet the rest of the round.

Sometimes your payback comes right away, sometimes it takes a while, but I am convinced that one day, people like him always pay for what they do.

abuse of women has been going on for generations, and until the punishment for those that do it are significant, and the treatment is followed through with it, it will keep going on.

A MAN WHO KILLS HIS WIFE OR GIRLFRIEND, TYPICALLY RECIEVES A SENTENCE OF LESS THAN 20 YEARS
A WOMAN THAT KILLS HER HUSBAND TYPICALLY RECIEVES A LIFE SENTENCE WITHOUT PAROLE.

SOUND FAIR TO YOU?

That's the best story I've heard in a while. I don't think a person should be abused period as well. I'm guilty of verbally abusing my boyfriend, but I feel like I'm stating the facts. My mother did it to our family growing up. Mostly my dad and I. I swear I get it from her and really have a hard time controlling it. If you ever looked at what a loser my boyfriend is, and the fact that he doesn't try to better himself you might do it too. I am completely frustrated with him and really feel I do not have a choice but to deal with his actions because I love him and we are going to be having a baby together. I just pray to god I never talk my child down, ever. But I am TERRIFIED he will turn out like his father, but I also cannot talk his father down to him. Abuse sucks. They have help for the abused, but they really don't have help for the abusers. Other than a shrink. I wouldn't mind a shrink o.0

Abuse is terrible.  Man, woman, animals, anything.  Abusers usually have serious emotional problems, and need help desperately, but it NEVER excuses the behaviour.

"As for the perception that women who murder their husbands are treated harshly by the justice system, Dr. Mann found that few female domestic homicide offenders receive prison sentences, and that those who do rarely serve more than four or five years. Justice Department sources, report that women who kill their husbands were acquitted in 12.9% of the cases, while husbands who kill their wives were acquitted only 1.4% of the time. In addition, women convicted of killing their husbands receive an average sentence of only 6 years, while male spousal killers got 17 years."

Additionally, historical statistics show that of the murders committed by women, that 60% are against an intimite partner or family member and for males of the murders they commit this value is 20%.

Don't let the facts get in the way of rhetoric though....
There are only 10 types of people in the world:  those who understand binary, and those who don't.

There are three types of people I cannot stand: People who abuse kids, people who abuse women, and people who abuse pets. If I ever came across any of those types of people, it would be in their best interest to run as fast and far as they can. I'm going to school to become a police officer, and some of the stuff we have to see is just absurd. It really makes you wonder what is wrong with people that they could do such horrible things. It used to be mainly men, but now, women are becoming just as abusive too. As a future law enforcement officer, I plan on helping to reduce terrible acts like these, with or without a badge.

Good for you.  Thankful for people who do this.  I am not sure I could.  I do think much of the abuse occurs because of alcohol and drugs and even mental illness.  I used to know a police dispatcher.  She always referred to Sunday night as Domestic Violence night.  She said it seemed like the weekend of drinking and drugging all came to a head on Sunday nights.
