What should you do if your mate doesn't get you anything for Valentine's Day  Well my mate didn't get anything for me but today the day after valentine's day he did.

Did he spend the day with, I think that should matter more then a gift.....maybe he didn't have the money on that day? At least you got one. I don't have a mate so my gift was my peace of mind considering a year ago on V day my mate cheated on me. just be glad he got you something honey

Not everyone celebrates Valentine's Day... however, I think in this day and age, if you are in a relationship, it is sort of expected. I got a really thoughtful gift from my boyfriend this year :D Our 3rd Valentine's Day together!

How old are you to be upset about this??? If you are a kid, it makes sense to be mad, if you are an adult, you are very much in controll of your emotions and it shouldn't be an issue!

By the way, what have you done for him lately(besides sex)????

Well, that could go a few ways.  Perhaps he forgot and remembered later and got you something to sorta make up for it.  Or, he possibly didn't want to follow the crowd, and decided to celebrate your relationship on his own terms, not on the date most other couple celebrate.  Or perhaps he didn't realize you really wanted to do something for Valentine's and tried to recover from that when he realized it later.

I'm sure there are other reason, but here are a few I could think of.

Getting a gift isn't what's important. Spending time together is what matters most.

We can't tell you what you should do, only you know what's in your heart.  All we can do is suggest things you could do.  Have you asked him about it?  Did he get his days mixed up?  Did you do something for him on Valentines?  Did you tell him you didn't want him to fuss over it then forgot you said that?  If everything else is good between you perhaps you could chalk it up to human error.  If it bothers you talk to him ("Honey, this is silly but for some reason it's bugging me, why'd you celebrate Valentine's on the 15th?).   :peace:

I have been with my spouse now 7 years. Four of the seven years we have been married. For the first four years we were together I remembered my spouse with surprises on all the holidays. The gestures were not reciprocated. I finally decided it must just not be important to my spouse and stopped celebrating the occasions. An amazing thing happened. My spouse started getting me surprises and cards for each occasion. Now we both do it and it is great fun.  Everyone feels special and spoiled.

Well since our anniversary is on Valentine's day yeah I'd be a bit upset if he didn't get me something or at least acknowledge the day (if for example we didn't have the money for gifts). You said he got you something the next day. Is it possible he may not of had money till then to get you something?
