Links to unread and reply to your posts missing

Usually, when I first go to the Forum, there are two links in the top left corner. One is for new unread posts and the other is unread replies to your posts. The last two days those links have been missing. Have I changed a setting somewhere? Is anyone having the same problem? Those two links are easy and essential to my browsing of the Forum. Help!

Excuse me if I am stating the obvious, but are you sure you are logged in? You may view the forum without logging in and are considered a guest. I've done that a number of times when viewing replies to topics I am following. I click on the link from the e-mail I received but sometimes don't realize I haven't logged in yet and wonder why I the option to reply is missing. Then it hits me. I hadn't logged in.

I just checked. If you are in the forum but haven't logged in, the two lines below

Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts.

will not show up. It could be as simple as that. In any case, that possibility needs to be ruled out. Let us know.

OP - have you installed any new scripts in your browser? That's the only thing I can think of that would case them to be missing; that maybe something was hiding them. Can you see your avatar, or is it the entire box is missing?

Good point, mawhite63. I just couldn't see any other reason those links wouldn't appear. They should always be there as long as you're logged in, unless I'm missing something. Which is certainly possible, of course!

Thanks, guys, for your replies! Yes, I am logged in - it says so at the very top. Special thanks to mawhite63, those links really help. All I did was update my IE explorer. I wouldn't think that would make any difference. I'll keep working on it.

I remember there was one Firefox update that really messed things up for me here at FC. I couldn't get credit for anything so I had to temporarily go over to IE for a while. Updates a lot of times can be a one step forward, two steps back type of thing.

I feel so stupid! Finally found the answer.... there is a plus sign to the right of the date in the upper right hand corner. Egads, it was as simple as clicking that! Thanks, guys, for your help, though. Have fun!!!!

LOL! Don't feel stupid - until you made that post I had never even noticed that +/- in the upper right hand corner. That's too funny
