what do you think about animal cruelty?

i feel animal cruelty is terrible...........and the people who mistreat animals should be penalized for it....what do you think and why?

I believe that being cruel to animals is as awful as being abusive to children.   They're defenseless. 

I think anyone who participates in hurting children or animals should pay a very hefty price.

I prefer old school punishment for animal cruelty -- see someone kick a dog around then go over and start kicking that someone around.  Unfortunately such conduct is discouraged nowadays.

I don't see how any human being can be so cruel to innocent animals who have never done any harm to anyone. The abuse really shows that the human is the animal and not vice versa.

In one way, I think animal abuse is worse than some child abuse.  The animal is incapable of telling someone that they are being abused.  It's on par with abusing a baby or someone who cannot communicate sufficiently well enough to ask for help. 

To be honest though, the type of person who abuses animals is the same type of person who would abuse children, or anyone/thing weaker than themselves.  Animal abuse is just easier to get away with.  I do agree with you about old school punishment as well.

I belong to many organizations against animal abuse.  I think any abuse is bad when they can't voice their abuse.  No different than animal abuse to child abuse to senior citizen abuse.   They are all really bad.  I think they should start giving people harsh sentences when they are convicted of it.

it's terrible there has been some stories in the news about cruelty to chickens and cows haven't watched to much because i can't stand to watch.those people who harm animals should be arrested thrown in jail .

I agree completely. Just because they aren't human doesn't mean they don't feel pain, saddness, or happiness.

I'm a huge believer in Animal/Human equality. I've been vegetarian since I was 4 years old and am in the process of making the transition to vegan.  Eating meat = Animal cruelty.

Animals can seem "cruel" if this is in their nature.  What's cruel to an observer is survival to that animal.

This would include some human critters.

Yeah i agree. Look at michael vick. He pretty much just got a slap on the wrist and then everyone's all...Oh forgive him he deserves it. Oh please. He should've still been in prison.
