Donating Plasma?
« on: January 28, 2012, 08:21:26 pm »
How does everyone feel about donating plasma for cash? I need money for school books and my daughter, I have a part time job but am not getting many hours since the holidays are over.

I have donated Plasma before and it was nice to make an extra $30 or $50, but i did not like having a need in my arm for almost an hour, but it was okay and is for a good cause, which is to help save a life!

I did that when I was young. I know a lot of people that do it now. If you have special blood it can be a real money maker and it helps others. :)

I'd thought about it once, but I was scared how much blood they needed. The only incentive for me to donate blood so far is to find out my blood type. :dontknow:

Where I went to college it seemed that EVERYONE I knew was donating plasma. It didn't seem to be dangerous so long as you follow the rules, and I heard it paid very well.

I've heard it's about $20 to $30 per donation and you can do it a few times a month.  The time consumption and needle in my arm kind of steers me away, but it's a good opportunity for extra funds if they are needed and it's for a worthy cause.

I wanted to do that for extra money for textbooks, but I can't find any places around here that take plasma donations, the only thing to do is donate blood for free.

it really depends on what they pay. around here it varies on how much u get but they give u a coupon book to give u more money on certain number of times u go. in beloit, wis there is a plasma center which pays out the most but the very first time i went to donate they told me i couldnt coz i have too small of veins so that sucks for me.
