I agree with that, but if you want to answer that question its sad. I'll be honest I don't watch either, mostly because the both they are trying to attract attention. Most information you want to know about the government you can look up yourself online. The problem is that people do not talk to their kids about politics, so people are relying on what? Are they expecting their teenage friends to bring it up, and have a debate? No, come on. Their teenagers, they are thinking about dating or fighting or doing something stupid. So a majority of people that age have not been taught to care or even vote for that matter. My husband and I met when we were both out of high school. He didn't even know how to balance a check book. My brother didn't know how to do his laundry. Kids are not taught how to serve let alone make important decisions on their own. When I was in first grade I asked my parents who they were voting for and they said they don't vote! Can you believe that, in first grade I made them go vote for who I wanted. You need to think about the fact that most people do not start off that interested. Plus lets be honest, people are less intelligent now. The whole no kid left behind thing was a great theory, not put into place well. My mother-in-law is a teacher, and not only did she not teach her own kids the basics of life, she is forced to pass people that would never have passed before. Kids are also able to dress like tramps, hit teachers, and swear all the time. She can't even stop it in her own class. I have seen her grade papers and not think that one person in one of her classes should pass. However the teacher is the one who has to bend on how hard they grade, and the teacher is the one that gets in trouble if enough people do not pass. The kids have to want to try, and parents have to give them a constructive reason not threats. It amazes me how many people do not vote but still think they have a right to complain about who gets picked. Yet no one is bold enough to actually go independent to see if it would work better. It doesn't matter who gets picked if they are running off the same theories as everyone who has run before them in that group. If you really want change be willing to look for it, and try for what is right not easy.
