violence. can it be stopped ?

STOP LETTING POEOPLE IN IN PRISON LIVE LIKE THEIR IN A COUNTRY CLUB! GIVE THEM BREAD AND WATER. NO TV. NO RECREATION. NO VISITING HOURS. NOTHING FROM THE OUTSIDE WORLD. THEN PEOPLE WILL THINK TWICE BEFORE REPEATING CRIMES AND WORD WILL GET OUT HOW BAD PRISON REALLY IS SUPPOSE TO BE. SOME OF THESE PEOPLE IN PRISION ARE LIVING BETTER IN THEIR THEN ON THE OUTSIDE. THATS REALITY AND VERY SAD.

Tell me about it, I grew up in a violent household.  And when we called the cops on my mother's abusive boyfriend he didn't care  because he would say "good now I'm on vacation, free food and shelter"!  Then he would get out in a few months after pressing charges! 

Thats rediculous, sure the murderers and rapists deserve this, but not everyone in prison. there are non violent offenders. What your talking about is TORTURE! no food only bread - youd go weak and sick fast. No recreation, NO contact to the outside world, including phone calls and letters? No talking to their KIDS!? Sure so the guy who was talked in to being a look out cant communicate with his kids EVER.. right.. thats BS. There are alot of people in prison for non violent crimes, even some that were legitimatly in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I have a friend in prison, he made a couple dumb mistakes when he was like 19, hes doing 5 years, he does NOT deserve what you are talking about!

You cant say lock them in a room and never let out, only give them water and bread. people with even a 2 year sentence would be insane and homicidal at the end of it! every crime would be a life sentence because noone would servive any amount of time for even the smallest of crimes! Like I said the sick disgusting rapists and murderers I could understand this for, but not the tax evader or the look out or the joy riding car booster.

Prison is no cake walk, there are fights every day, serious injurys and murders, rapes, and so on. I wouldnt want to go to Prison as is!

(and @ mynevaeh that sounds like jail not prison since it was only months at a time.. county jail is much different then prison, people arent in there for as long, and you can go for unpaid traaffic tickets in some cases!)

the solution to take of all kind of weapons from people 

How will that solve it? there would still be violence like there was before we had those weapons, and ANYTHING can be made into a weapon, people would just use kitchen knives or baseball bats and golf clubs, or big rocks and sharpen sticks ect.

people kill people not guns, some people NEED guns for self defense against bad criminals.. if you outlaw guns, then outlaws will be the only ones with guns (and that they WILL just like they find a way to got all kinds of illegal stuff) and then the avg person will be defensless.

Violence will never be stopped. It is in our nature. All we can do is control it which is what a civilized society is supposed to do. As to weapons, think there isn't violence in prison ?

the sheer thought of my rights, dignity and freedom being taken away from me is torture enough.   the prison enviornment alone is enought to bring out violence in the least violent offenders.  torturing them would be wrong, and putting all offenders in the same group is wrong as well.

 Its sad how our world change our young kids to pick up a gun very time there gettn bullyed.. i wish it wasnt like thiz but thiz world need to help our kids to go more then fight and go bad things to people. Its not to late to save the world

With no pain, how could there be pleasure? how would we know how good something felt, if nothing ever felt bad?

There has to be 2 sides, or there would be 0, just a grey nuetral area, because without the opposite also in play, everything would be a constant and normal, no straying from it, nothing to compare it to.

Imagine if there was no violence ever - world peace - no wars ever - no murders.. we have 7 billion people as it is right now.. we would be massivly over populated and in serious trouble with resources and polution ect ect.. remember for all that have been killed by violence in the past wars, if they were ALL still alive it would more then likely mean them, theie kids, their kid's kids, ect which is an exponentialy huge number to add to our current massive population...
Some violence is a neccessary evil.

Can we strive to LIMIT the violence? YES. Can we completely abolish it? NO.

Violence can't be stopped entirely, it's part of our animal instinct. The best thing we can do it teach our children how to treat people with respect. Show them that there are other ways of solving problems that don't involve violence.

Yes violence is matter that has to be control, not by taking all the guns away or putting violent offenders in jails.The only way i fill violence will stop is when God  ends it.

Violence can never be stopped completely...we all have agency in this world and are responsible for what we choose.  Until the Lord comes back to reign over His kingdom, violence will unfortunately be a part of human nature.  Sad....but true

Violence, how can it be stopped  in our world? It's up to us whether we live in peace or continue with our violent  wars.

Violence in and of itself is not that bad.
