To be or not to be?
« on: January 12, 2012, 09:19:46 pm »
This is an age old question, I know but I had a person give me this question in a group I attended today. I was just wandering what some of your answers would be.
I wrote that I like being just me and that I would like to continue to be me. My life is far from perfect, but Who would we be if we were not  ourselves.

I haven't been asked this question in a long time. This is the way I look at it: the question isn't whether or not "to be" because everyone will always "be", doesn't matter what that "be" is. The question is instead, for me, "How to be".

To be or not to be....

means that I am free to be myself.  When I was younger I didn't feel free to be who I am.  I felt I had to meet the expectations of others.  Now I am who I am and even if I'm not perfect....

I'm perfect enough with the option of growing and learning in my life time.

I never really understood that particular passage from Shakespeare, even though it is so often quoted.  I always assumed it meant simply to keep living, or just go ahead and die.
