Are you talking Dublin, as in Ireland?  I think that here in the States, there is a bottling plant in Texas that is the only place that makes the Dr. Pepper with real sugar.

I think it is sad that ANY iconic brands are having trouble or closing (Hostess etc.)  it is a sad thing indeed to see people lose their jobs in this Country.

It is the bottling plant in Dublin, Texas that is closing after a lawsuit between them and the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. It is NOT the end of the Dr.P' with the real cane sugar though.

A representative for Dr Pepper Snapple Group emphasized that Dr Pepper made with cane sugar will continue to be available.

It just won't be made in Dublin anymore.

Hope that makes all of you who drink it (I hate the stuff personally!) happier. ;)

I am drinking a bottle right now.  Don't know where it was bottled, but it tastes good.  No sugar... high fructose corn syrup for sweetner.

My husband loves the pure cane doctor pepper! He likes regular, but he loves the pure cane. I havent been able to drink it at all since my first kid. When I was prego I guess he didnt like it. And ever since I cant get the taste for it back. I love coke and root beer though.

I love Dr. Pepper, it's one of my favorites. But I've never had the pure cane kind.

I'm ok with the Dublin plant closing as long as Pepper is still being made somewhere.  Preferably in the United States.  If Coke isn't available I always opt for the Dr.

I agree Coke is definitely better with real sugar, but I don't recall having Dr Pepper with real sugar, perhaps before high fructose corn syrup became the norm.  Here in central New Mexico we can get Coke imported from Mexico that's made with real sugar and it comes in glass bottles.  I found two sources online for vintage sodas:  Old 52 General Store and Galco's Soda Pop Shop.

I will always be a doctor and "Long live the Twinkie!"
I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"
