I think that that is correct, Divinity 82. So a FC member has to be very careful when making searches if you want to earn your penny.  I think I now understand how the searches work or at least I better understand.

I am getting some credit for my toolbar searches but it is not working as it is supposed to. I thought that we were supposed to get one cent for every four searches. That is not happening. I have earned some cents but not one cent for every four searches.  

I have gone back and checked. I have earned 8 cents for 43 searches. My number of searches increases as well as my earnings but I am not earning one cent for every four searches.

The reason for this is that some of your searches were flagged by the automatic system as invalid.  When there is one invalid search, that spoils the whole "4-search basket".  It's a little complicated so I will try an example:

- You install the toolbar and after a while you've made four valid searches, earning you one cent.  The counter displays: "4 searches >> 1 cent".
- You make another valid search, and then immediately after that you search for the same phrase again.  The system flags that search as invalid.  The counter displays: "6 searches >> 1 cent" (because the counter reflects ALL searches, not just valid ones)
- You make two more valid searches, bringing your total to 8; however, you are not credited the 1c since one of your searches in the "4-search basket" was invalid.  The counter displays: "8 searches >> 1 cent" (again, it's counting all searches even though one wasn't valid)
- Over the next day you make four valid searches, bringing your total to 12.  You are credited the 1c for making a set of four valid searches.  The counter displays: "12 searches >> 2 cents"

I hope this illustrates how your toolbar counter can display numbers that don't seem to add up.  It's because the searches are treated as packages of four, and all four must be valid to earn the 1c.  And also because the counter increases for each and every search, even invalid ones.  You have had 8 valid "4-search baskets" credited, two "4-search baskets" invalidated, and you have made 3 out of 4 searches in your current "basket".  Assuming the last 3 searches you made were valid, you should earn a cent with your next search.

Well than mine is really not working then because my counter is not even moving from 141 searches. It has been stuck there for almost 2 weeks yet every day I try to do some searches. So mine is not even counting the invalid ones. (Which I have had non stop for at least 2 weeks now)
I have submitted a support ticket but no one has gotten back to me yet.

Well, I have finally figured out how to do searches and earn my one cent. it is working ok for me now. Took a little work and thinking to figure it out. 

jorhea.  Maybe you should uninstall your tool bar and then install again. Or maybe you should reboot your computer.  Even if you did not earn any extra money, you should see number of searches increase.  I am not very tech savvy. I wish that i could be more help. I hope that your support ticket gets answered soon.

Thanks for the suggestion but I got a new laptop a couple days ago and installed the toolbar on my new laptop and still the same problem. Every search is invalid and my counter has not moved.

Well that is clear as mud. I am sure I do not still understand. I just search now, now worring about it. Many seem to be invalid and then one gets through. 30 searches so far and only 2cents credited.  But at least it is 2 cents more than I had before.
