If the Mayans could predict the future... Wouldn't there still be Mayans?

That doesn't logically follow since there are still "Mayans".  The Lacandon are direct descendants of the Maya peoples who live in the jungles of the Mexican state of Chiapas.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

Yes, there is ample evidence that the Lacandon decend from the Mayans.  The key word there is "decendants".  These particular people had been isolated from the modern world until very recently.  This means very little tribal dillution in their bloodlines.  How many references will it take to verify this for you or, are you unwilling to think about it?

Okay however, the Mayan calendar doesn't indicate the end of the world, only the end of the current "long-count" cycle.  Another long-count begins 12-22-12.

They're as "Mayan" as someone currently of Germanic decent is "Saxon".

I have.  No one can force you to do so, especially since that would apparently exceed your capacity.

I don't know if it will end then, but if it does, I hope it ends with zombies.

Evidently, it already has.
