I have had a dog(s) all my life. Don't care too much for cats. My last dog lived to be 15yrs old and just had to have him put down last month. I would really like to get another dog, but due to health reasons, I don't think it would be fair to the pet that I wouldn't be able to take them a walk or get on floor and play with him. So I quess I will not be getting another dog. Just remember any pet you have takes alot of time to care for them.

I personally love both ... am down to 3 cats and 1dog (Older dog and cat passed a few months back)

As for dogs not shedding as much as cats ... I had a German shepherd that dropped more hair than my Persian Cat.

I have several of each and it would be hard to pick between them. Cats are easier to take care of and much more independent. Our dogs are more like kids. Not only are they protective but they are fun to play with. They definitely are more work but the rewards are much greater.

Much prefer a dog. Can't stand seeing a cat hack up a fur ball.

Dogs, but I live in a town house so I can have a cat or small dog, but since I prefer big dogs I have a cat, which I love she is a great pet the only down side is the litter box.

I like dogs because they have personalities and you can take them places, but a cat is so much easier to manage. Especially when it comes to vacations!!! So hard to take our dog with us on vacation. Places say they are dog friendly, but not really!!!

I love them both, but right now a cat. Our landlords won't allow dogs. I like the independent streak in cats, but love the companionship in dogs. I'm indecisive.

I've had dogs all my life. I'm not really a cat person myself. Dogs are more loyal.

a cat i have a 20 year old persian callico cat she is my baby i love cats and little dogs i was attacked by a rottwiler when i was younger
