christmas Tree takedown
« on: December 27, 2011, 06:52:28 pm »
When do you take down your Christmas Tree? I leave mine up til after the 1st of the year because of the rumored bad luck. I know it is only a old wives tale, but why take any chances? So Whats your story?

My grandma always told us Three Kings Day is January 6th and that day is the Epiphany and Twelfth day of Christmas so we leave our tree up until then

I typically take mine down in mid-January.  I like to keep the tree up through New Years - just makes my house more festive with it up.  I wait until mid-January as that's the first run when the city picks up trees left on the street, and I usually get a 3-day weekend with Martin Luther King Jr. Day which gives me extra time to take everything down that weekend too.

i'm actually taking it down this week.
my fiance is a scrooge! i'd rather take it down
and have a nice clean house to start the new
year with, than listen to him whine  ::)
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

I already took down our tree yesterday and will have this taken away tomorrow. I am planning to also consider the tree renting as the trees are suppose to be reusable with this program.

We have a fake tree and I'm waiting to take it down because my 3 yr old is still fascinated with it. He has until probably the first week of January because we really don't have room for it!

January 1st....it's the last time we'll all be around, so it makes the job a lot easier, more exciting!

I leave mine up until the 6, or the first weekend of the year when I am able to take it down.

Our family tradition is always to leave it until January 6th the Three Kings Day but I always leave it a little over that because my kids love it.
