I'd rather be just about anything else in the world than blind.

I was hospitalized once and thought I would never see daylight again.  When I finally was on my way home, I saw so much in the world around me that I previously took for granted.  I can't compare to blind, but I can imagine how it feels to see the world when you thought you would never see it again.

My eyesight is deteriorating at a rapid rate, but I think it is just due to old age. I cannot imagine NOT being able to see to do my art! I know there are blind artists and they do a magnificent job, but to live without colour is hard for me to imagine.

I have often thought this is the one sense I would hate to lose.  It would be so sad not to be able to see the world around me.

I once met a guy who was actually glad to be blind. He said he could hear and smell things to paint a picture in his mind and that he rather imagine the beautiful things he could have seen than to be able to see the beauty and the ugly side of the world.  :dontknow:

It would be hard if you had sight your whole life. If you were born blind you would adjust. It still of course would be hard.
