If you have the dimensions and the weight of the box, you can go to FedEx, UPS, and USPS online to check how much the shipping charges are.  I like the USPS flat rate boxes, but they are probably not suited for perishable goods.  All 3 offer tracking online and are all reliable.  I know that if there is a problem that UPS and FedEx are easy to deal with.  You might as well kiss your money and contents goodbye if the USPS loses track of them.  Hope this helps.  Good luck.

I ususally go to the post office and do their one rate box. You can mark fragile on it and that should work.

I have to shipped things to a different state for Christmas, I hate that it costs so much now. Next year I think I will skip the gifts. Postage is more than the gift is worth

I will say that the one time we tried to use UPS to ship something like that, the price turned out to be so outrageous that we just didn't do it.  USPS has one rate boxes, but I'm not sure how they handle perishable food.  And I have no experience with Fed Ex...  Guess I'm not really all that much help here after all.
