How far are you traveling for Thanksgiving?
« on: November 21, 2011, 08:45:54 am »
About 30 miles for me.  We do the big dinner at one of my daughters.  I quite often go on WEdnesday to help get everything ready.  I plan on coming home thursday night, but we shall see what happens.

About 30 yards to the dining room table. One son is driving about 2 hours and another an hour, but most are going to the in-laws this year. Then we have one on the opposite coast and one in Alaska that works every Thanksgiving as a chef.

Hopefully an hour away, if I can get my Mom to travel that far.

I'm heading about 150 miles away to celebrate the T-day with my family. Ever since I relocated to a new job I haven't been able to see them very much. The first few days are supposed to be a bit rainy so we'll probably have a few days to just hang out inside!

I've got you beat!
I've only got 15 feet to go to my parents kitchen.
Of course I wish---and I can't believe I'm saying this--that I had to travel farther; but such is the state of the economy these days.

Maybe a 20 minute drive for myself. I go to Uncle's place for Thanksgiving every year. Family members who also participate range from around 15 minutes to a couple hour drive.

Approximately 600+ miles.  Do I win the distance prize?

All my family (except me and my fiance) live in TN.  We live up near Cleveland OH.   ;D

I won't have to travel very far for Thanksgiving.  I have to work that day till 12:30 pm.  When I get off work I am going over to my grand daughter's house and since I work at Walmart I have to be at work 2 am on black Friday.  Not much rest for the weary.  LOL.  Hope everyone has a great day and may God Bless each of you and keep you safe.

My hubby and I decided to stay home this year and have Thanksgiving on our own.  Sometimes it is nice to just have a dinner with your immediate family although it is nice to see the in-laws and relatives for the holidays.

Staying right here at home with my husband and three children.  My daughter will be home from College and My mom and dad are coming too.  I'll be cooking Gumbo as well as turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, broccoli casserole, green bean casserole, pecan pie, and strawberry cheesecake!
