Everyone is feeling the crunch of the current economy. How do you feel the government is doing ? Do you think a new president will really make a difference ?

The country is controlled by people with money! Whoever is lining the pockets of the leaders, is going to get what they want.
The middle class is disappearing.

The president won't make a bit of difference, because the whole system is failing.

The country is controlled by people with money! Whoever is lining the pockets of the leaders, is going to get what they want.
The middle class is disappearing.

The middle class has disappeared completely.  There are the rich and the near poverty poor.  The current President didn't  cause the problem, it fell into his lap as he walked into the White House doors.

No it won't matter which president gets "put in". This is all being done by design. The country I grew up in is gone. Food prices are going up while jobs are disappearing and wages going down. Just to get a drivers license renewed in the state of Florida is a joke. They want your birth certificate and if you're a divorced woman you have to have all and or any marriage licenses with the divorce paper too. They document you to death. People who are obviously citizens and have been getting theirs renewed for over 40-50 years are put through the same madness.

Unless and until we get the money from banks and special interests out of politics, it won't matter who is in the WH.This 1% of the rich in this country has total control of the 99% of us and our lives. Their intentions are to maintain that control and keep the wealth concentrated. The middle class has virtually been wiped out by their economy which includes lack of jobs, mortgage scams, denial of voter rights and education. So, no I don't think it makes a difference who is in the WH--unless there is a man or woman who can get elected without influence of all of the above.

Not much to say, other than that I agree with all the previous posts.  Our government's been completely corrupted by outside money.

With trillions in debt, millions of people out of work, and the continuing increase spending of taxpayers $$$$$ going through the roof, the government is definitely doing poorly.

I don't share the class warfare sentiments of most of the other posters here but I do think the government is doing poorly and has grown far too large and is involved in far many more areas than it has authority to be involved in.  I also offer a solution to this problem (one that even works for those that believe in their class warfare viewpoints) and that solution is to simply shrink the federal government back towards its intended size and authority.  By doing so you would remove the inherent corruption that comes from governments associations in areas where it lacks authority.  Eliminate that abomination of a health care law, the department of education, the EPA, DOA, DOT, DOI (mostly), and quite a bit more.  Eliminate the social programs as well, of course.

I think we are moving in the right directiion.  All the "bad guys" have been caught.  Our troops are coming home and our outlook is a llittle better.  The economy was in a deep hole and what-ever president is elected, its gonna take time to get out.

At least there are some sensible people left in this country! Too many people look to the governemnt to solve their problems, but that is not the answer. Americans need to wake up and realize that this country was founded on independence, not reliance on government, which necessarily becomes more and more corrupt the bigger it gets. Too many people want handouts today, whether at the expense of the rich or the middle class, which is disappearing due to being taxed down to poverty level.

I think we new new people all the way around. From City to Federal and everyone in between. If they have been in office even just a year they need to be replaced.

I agree entirely with you and you seem to echo my frustration and downright shock at the dependence of people today.  Half of these poor saps would have the government wipe their asses for them and call it a human right.
