Chemicals in everything !!!

I am taking this environmental biology class and i have learned a lot like BPA in water bottles and chemicals in cooking pans everything is bad for you and this is really upsetting one girl in my class works at the hospital and she does drug tests and says that people actually have drugs in their system not by taking but by the water they drink!!! We have drugs in our water!!!! The most basic thing!!! We are in a developed richest nation and we are not protected from the most basic thing !!!!Why is this the case !!

the sad thing is, people don't believe you when
you bring these things up. you're a very credible source
who is obviously being educated on these matters.
one of my best friends is earning her degree in
environmental studies and the things she has learned
like this are amazing...

but remember, YOU'RE the crazy one (  )
the mass media won't report on these things. if you
want to know the truth about anything, your news must
come from other sources, and most people aren't willing
to step out of their bubble.

Well duh, you already answered yourself: because we are the richest.
You don't become rich be being responsible. You become rich by exploiting your customers and getting the biggest buck for the littlest interest.
And when the government backs a broken system, it only gets worse.
And when people back the government because it successfully fools them; even worse.

We just finished a chapter on toxins and oh my gosh that just is soooo upsetting !!! Seriously all the chemicals we encounter everyday even if you are aware like BPA you cant avoid fully and its just upsetting we should protect each other europe and other places actually banned BPA !!!! There are babies being fed milk out of BPA bottles and this is the worst they are the most vulnerable. Everything you can think of basically is bad its just hard being in this class i have learned soooo much but it also made me very upset and paranoid I feel like i need to double my hours since this class to pay for all the stuff I need free of chemicals !!!!

I've have started to do many things for myself, grow more of my own food, ditch the teflon, ditch the cleaning products and live a simpler life.

I agree, chemicals are in EVERYTHING!  America has become a country of disposable answers.
Plastic cups, silverware, food wrap, plates,bowls, bottles, sandwich baggies and the list goes on and on. Most of us do not realize how much plastic touches the food we eat. Think about what happens when you heat your food in plastic.
I was raised the 'old country way' and have always tried to stay away from these things. As said before, growing your own veggies is a place to start. Cooking with cast iron, glass and stainless steel pots and bakeware helps. Use wooden spoons and stainless steel utensils when cooking.
Luckily most of the silverware Americans use is already stainless steel.

There is more awareness about this. Improvements and changes are being made. .....Dr Mercola.....
Also, there are other issues: fluoride in  our water; there is a fight going on to straighten this out....60 years, we have been fooled on that one. Paul Connett's book....."The Case Against Fluoride".
I think it's a shame at how much senior abuse there is; not just physical either.....Hearing Aids for $7,000? come on. There are catalog companies offering the same thing for $40! Thank God!
