Fleetwood Mac
« on: November 13, 2011, 03:39:03 pm »
I spent my Sunday afternoon back in time, the 70's listening to Fleetwood Mac. I am uncertain that with all of the memories that accompanied the music whether it was a happy or sad experience for me, bittersweet, I suppose.

Does music from the past leave you feeling happy, sad, or a bit of both?

 I loved Fleetwood Mac. And, it brings back many memories. Mostly good though. My brother in law was in love with Stevie Nicks...lol. There's nothing like the "old stuff" when you want to go back in time. :fish:

Depends on the song.  Some songs came out during certain events of my life and I associate those songs with those events.  There was one song I hated to hear not only did they play it on the radio all the time but I remember it because it came out when my grandmother died.  For the longest time I when I heard the song on the radio I had to turn it.  I couldn't listen to it.  The same when my father died there was one particular song that I associate with the time he died.  I couldn't listen to it for the longest time I would turn the station.

 It depends upon the song, my mood and what has happened that day for me! Lots of times though music from the past puts me in a really good mood!

It isn't always the same emotions. I suppose it depends on what memories are brought forth upon hearing the music. Sometimes, just one song can bring out multiple feelings. No matter what comes forth, I just try to make sure that I don't retain those feelings for too long so as to avoid any potential downfalls that could result in a bad day/mood.  ;)

Music usually brings back all kinds of memories. But I think that's part of why people like it. Nothing like a song to teleport you back into the past temporarily.
