Survey's take longer than stated
« on: November 11, 2011, 02:36:27 pm »
Hi,

I have only been doing this a week, but one of the things I have noticed is that most of the survey's I take, take way longer than the stated time. I'm pretty quick at this kinda stuff and have a lot of web experience, but there is no way that a "20 minute" survey is going to take an hour!

Is anyone else having this experience?

Hello and yes, that does happen quite a bit.  The usual explanation is that the time estimate for any particular survey is an average.  Some even take a bit less time than estimated, (although, if one rushes through them too quickly, they may not credit), and some take longer.  Additionally, several survey affiliates have discerned that the majority of survey-takers are less likely to take the lengthier surveys, (even with higher incentives offered), than the 20-minute-or-less variety.  So, it may be that the longer ones are intentionally under-estimated in duration in the hopes that some will muddle through once they've spent considerable time muddling.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I have never qualified for a survey on Fusion Cash but I have on some other sites now and then.  That has happened to me every so often.  I am told that the survey will be 10 minutes or 15 minutes and it takes me longer -- sometimes much longer.  I do not qualify for very many surveys.  Usually the majority are accurate about how long it might take.  The ones that I like best are the ones that have a completion bar on top or bottom.

Even the completion bars can mess with you sometimes.  Several times, I will have been on the survey for 25 to 30 minutes and the bar only shows 50%, and then 2 questions later it shows above 80%.  I just figure, I go as long as I have time and when I gotta go, the survey is over, complete or not.

The survey has skip patterns.  When it gets to 80%, you should be pretty much near the end.  I like it when it goes from 50% to 80%.  That means, that for whatever reason, you skipped some of the questions.

Yep, I have had this same experience, unfortunately for me it's the 30 minute surveys that turn into an hour and a half. I have gone half blind by that point and am so confused that I am lucky if I even complete them at all, and certainly not with any quality to my answers and I am 100% muddling through.
