Got a $2500 check.

On all those checks you will notice that is not a bank  routing number at the bottom. A dead giveaway that it is a fraud!!! 
I got one, was very suspicious and I looked closer.

After perusing the responses, my gut instinct tells me this is a scam.

I'm going to shred it.

I imagine you've already shredded the check by now, but just out of curiosity I Googled "Baker Hughes, Inc" and they are an oilfield service company. Here is the contact page from their website....even has the same address that was on the check you received...........

Maybe you should contact them directly and ask them about the check. If it is indeed a scam, they definitely need to know that someone is using their company name for fraudulent reasons. You could email them the image that you posted here. Heck, maybe it was a big, fat stock payment or something!!

The check was shredded.

I don't think that email image is good enough for them to determine that and I have no other backup.

take and type in the name on the outside of the check came in and its address and as it about scams and you will be surprised.  Don't cash it or deposit it b/c most likely its

It's a shame. how the greed for money will cause some  people to do something that will hurt others. I received a check for 985. dollars i was to put it in the bank, give the account # to  them so they could release my sweepstake winning of 800000 thousand to my account. what would of happened is if had done what they wanted me to do. Let just say i would be out of a grand.
