Grandma
« on: November 04, 2011, 08:05:25 pm »

                                         Grandma
Her arms are always open wide

                                   To welcome you with love

Her smile is brighter than the stars

                                    That sparkle high above

                               She listens without judgment

she takes the time to share

                                Gold bless this dear Grandmother

And hold her in Your care

  :star: :star:

That is a beautiful poem about Grandmothers.

I think times are changing though.  Gone are the days when Grandmothers were at home. Many are still working and cannot attend their grandchildren's events.

Grandparents live states away from their grandchildren.  Gone are the days when it was "Over the river and through the woods to grandmother's house we go.  The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh through the white and drifting snow"

After i had my 3 sons; my mom told me that the love to a grandchild is really unconditional, Parents have to do the work know and she just have to enjoy them.
My mother-in-law told that actually i was the want teaching her how to be a grandma... she live in Argentina and met her grandson when he was 2, she wanted to set rules, and him to do everything right... I always told her that that was my job, hers is to do the contrary; if i say no candy, go and give him one..... Know she enjoy them to the top and the love her more that anything....
Unconditional love

Awww, that's a nice poem...Unfortunately I never got the chance to meet my grandma on my mothers side (she died when my Mom was 19) and my grandma on my father's side wasn't really that warm.  :(

I have the fondest memories of my maternal grandmother.  She helped to raise me and my siblings while my mother worked.  I strive to be a grandma like she was.  A grandmother's love is really special.

What a lovely tribute.  I lost my Granny in 2010.  I miss her more than words can say.  Your tribute brings back fond memories of her.  Thank you so much!

That is a great poem about Grandmothers. My Grandmother is the light of our world and we love her so much. She is so wise and rich with love and she spreads it every where she goes.

Call your grandmother (or someone else's, if you don't have one) just to see how are they are doing!
I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"
