What type of Christmas tree real or artificail do you prefer

I grew up with an artificial tree, so that's the way I go.

I LOVE    real trees but they are just too messy and cause my allergies to flare up so I will stick with the artificial.  With enough lights and ornaments ... it is hard to tell the difference anyway.  I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!

We always had an artificial tree when I was growing up, and I have continued that tradition.  I've seen how messy it is to clean up after a real one and I just don't want to deal with all that.  I don't really see the point of cutting down a tree just to throw it away within a month.  Besides, I save money each year by reusing my artificial one.

I have been looking at the artificial trees that are in the stores now. I will probably get a real one though. I live in Oregon and can go and cut one down in the forest for a small fee. When we lived in Oklahoma we had an artificial one because the real ones were to expensive. I really prefer a real tree where you have the smell of pine in your house and I don't mind the needle mess, because all you have to do is put something down plastic under it.

I would have to say artificial because I think the real ones attract bugs I'd rather be safe then sorry

I prefer a real one, but for practical purposes, I have a fake one.

Save the environment by using artificial tree over and over is better than cutting trees every Christmas.

I remember one Christmas that we bought a real tree that was in a pot and could be planted after Christmas and therefore alleviates the problem of wasting a tree. I thought it was cool to plant the tree after Christmas.

We have always used an artificial tree.  Seems senseless to pay for a new one every year.  Just takes up storage space and much longer to decorate.  We have the kind that each branch needs placed into the color-coded hole.  Looks great when it's up though!

I have always had the green christmas tree, but last year, my husband and I bought a white one, I have always wanted one, but we will see if it is going to be the same.

There is nothing like a real tree and that is what I prefer. But a real tree but it is not logical around my place. I have three big dogs here, one who is very inquisitive, so an artificial one is what I use. I do get tree branches and decorate with them so I can have the fresh pine smell in my house.

I love the smell of a live christmas tree. It makes the house smell so good. It does'nt feel like christmas without the smell of evergreen. On the other hand my husband hates real tree's. He says that it is a fire hazard. Can you imagine that?

Exactly. I admit it. I love Christmas. I currently have an artificial tree as I have just gotten too old and lazy to deal with a real tree.

I have about 8 strings of lights on my tree and though it is one of those trees that you can 'fold up', it is never folded. I do remove the ornaments and carefully pack them away, but those lights that I have spent at least 4 hour wrapping around every single branch, in and out are staying put.

For two years, I folded the tree with the lights on and I found that it tended to break some of the bulbs and...if one goes out so does the string...

So now, in my cleverness, I have a corner of the dining room that I place the tree, and then I have some old folding closet doors that I have painted and placed around the tree like a room divider or oriental screen...

Come December 1st, out it comes to the living room, and all I have to do is decorate with ornaments (except for the odd year when they start to burn out :-

Long live the artificial tree...
