Who did you get along with the best between your parents

I go along better with my dad because he and I were more a lot and my mother was less understanding. I had a okay relationship with both though.

i had a great relationship with both of my parents.
my mom was one of my best friends though, and
we could always talk on a friend-level. she seemed
like a big sister most of the time

i grew up with my mother and my stepfather and i got along with them equally well; we had a pretty good relationship.
as a child i visited my father once or twice a month and we got along fairly well, i suppose.

unfortunately, now that i'm older i don't really get along with my dad at all. he's incredibly stubborn and short-sighted and any sort of extended communication with him is incredibly frustrating. i love him, but i just don't like talking to him.  :-

My mother.  She wasn't nearly as strict as my father was when I was growing up.  He tried too much to be like his father and how Grandpop raised my aunts.  They still can't believe my father acted like his father.  Needless-to-say, my daughter wasn't raised as strict as I was.

I would say that I had a better relationship with my dad as we were a lot alike ... but I now have a great relationship with my mom as I have gotten older.

I get along best with my mother because she has been there for me for all of my life and has sacrificed a lot for me.

I agree, I get along with both of them now, but both my mom and stepfather were very strict with me (mom more than dad), i could not do anything, and my brother was allowed to do everything, I rebel so bad that as of today, I do not take kindly to any type of advice, good or bad, or anything to do with what I "Should" do with my life.  I promised myself that I would not be a mom like my parents, I for the most part I think I have done a good job.  My parents (specially Mom) are still trying to control what I do and how I raise my girls, when they do something like  have a boyfriend, specially somebody that they think is beneath my family (my parents are racists), they go "we did not raise you like that, or you grew up in a different environment, or you are too soft with the girls".  Or the favorite one "we never let you do half of what they do", well YEAH that is the idea.

But I love them dearly and as long as they do not interfere I get along perfectly.

I didn't have both my parents and I really didn't get along with my mother until now that I am a mother myself.

I'm a daddy's girl all the way.  Never really got along with mom.  But when dad died (10 years ago)  Mom and I started getting along (a few years after he passed though)  Now I regret all that time we didn't spend together.  But I'm making up for it now....I'm her caregiver and she depends on my for everything since she can no longer care for herself.  We've become real close - I wish we'd always been like that but i'll sure take it now.

Well, it would be my mom because I don't remember much about living with my Dad because after young childhood my parents didn't live together much due to my dad's alcoholism and because I was in a children's hospital for much of the time between 10 years and 17 years.  My mother was an excellent mother though and really lived for her children.  We had some periods of not getting along as most do and I think due to trying to gain my independence.  I loved my mother very much though and was very close to her and I miss her alot since her death this past May.

I had really different relationships with both my folks.  They are both gone now (and hopefully together) and I wish daily that I could share my life with them still.  They were both kind, intelligent, supportive and non-judgemental. Not only with my sisters and me but with the world at large.  God should have left them here a while longer because they enriched his world. Boy do I miss them.
