Working late hours, then trying to alternate the day for classes. Five hour energy, coffee all day,or a Monster

None of the above... caffeine products will only dehydrate you and keep you up at night.

You titled this "Fighting Insomnia", right? To get to sleep, find out about herbal supplements like hawthorn or valerian root.

Herbal products are very good, buttt, ONE small glass of Manachevits Blackberry Wine before bed is a great relaxant, it is good for your stomach and it builds your Red Blood Cells. IF You are anemic----You will never have to take another iron supplement !!

My sleep patterns can get a little bit weird too.  There are so many factors that can contribute to insomnia that it's difficult to
tell someone how to fix it.  I know that there is a tendency to reach for caffeine because you have to be energetic and functional
...at certain times...even if you're not sleeping.  I guess a question to ask yourself is why you're not able to sleep.  Is it anxiety?
Do you have symptoms of fibromyalgia where you hurt too much to sleep?

Do you have medical insurance where you can see an ear, nose and throat specialist who can do a sleep study?

I'm just trying to help you explore your options.  I wish you the best.

Sincerely,
Sherry
Have a great day!

I take Melatonin to help me sleep. It is naturally found in the body and can be taken to help you sleep. That much caffeine may not be helping either. Try drinking some black or green tea as it has caffeine but in smaller amounts than coffee. Switch to herbal tea before bedtime. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help you feel energized and keep your metabolism up.

Other things that can help is not to do other activities in bed. Bed is for sleep or "special time" only.

Might I also suggests having a better sleep and school schedule next time so you can have similar times to sleep each day. Changing your bedtime drastically is very hard because you are working against your own bodies sleep cycle. It will always be an uphill battle if you chose to sleep very different hours each day.
