Heaven or Hell

Do you believe the writings of Dante(Italian poet),or the KJV of Revelation?
Since all the revisions of KJV have come to be,I still accede with KJV for the truths of the matter.

Both are fictional. Any open-minded person that does a little unbiased research will know that these supernatural ideas stem from earlier belief systems and ultimately imagination.

Agreed; plus, they forgot that third fictional option: "purgatory".
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

Fourth fictional option: reincarnation.

Zounds, there's even a fifth fictional option:  rapture.

Well, since the Bible is Holy Writ and Dante's a work of literature,I'll go with the Bible.

I hope for your sake that you are right, I pray for my sake that you are wrong.----I am not all that convinced that supernatural= imaginary, I think that if I don't exclude what I can't explain-isn't that being openminded?

Sure. To an extent that is. There's a blurry line between being open-minded and being rational imo. Are the Abrahamic religions correct? They could be even though the chances are lesser than microscopic. If you think that these religions could be true, then you must believe that every single afterlife idea ever conceived has a chance to be true too. To say otherwise is a false dilemma. But the major rational point is these afterlife ideas don't really fit in with reality at all (many can be traced back to primitive peoples) so I'd wager that all of the mythical ones are imaginary and always have been (despite what the popular+narrow religious viewpoints will say).

I don't believe anything that hasn't been proven.

Heaven all the Way! I cant imagine being so closed minded that I can only believe in what I can prove. What is life without believing in miracles. How does the person riddled with tumors and dying all of a sudden have nor tumors? Everyon is entitled to their own opinions and this is mine, but I hope someday those that are closed minded will experience a miracle for their own and open their minds. :angel12:

I guess you're open to leprechauns, unicorns, Big Foot, and the Loch Ness Monster then?  I know many a scam artist who would be happy to do business with an "open minded" person such as yourself.

Because sometimes the body heals itself and improves...this is not a miracle.  Also, when throwing the word "miracle" around, people usually mean divine intervention.  Is one person living because of "god's will" really something to cheer about when millions of others aren't so lucky?

These 'narrow-minded' fundies seem to prefer attributing effects to a mystical cause and characterizing reasoning as "closed-minded".  It's sublimely ironic of them.
