My parents are always trying to tell me things. Like when I wanted to get married i was 30 he was 27 they told me it wouldn't last and I shouldn't marry him becasue he was disabeled mentally and could read or write but to me we where friends and really got to know each other in the little time we got to talk.  They were always telling me what to do with my son that I had when I was 20 what I was doing what wasn't right. I mean I worked full time I put my life on hold for my son, I didn't marry until his was 10 and I felt I was doing good, and out of my siblings I was the more responsible and reliable for them and they still try to make me feel like I don't do enough I am so tired of it and I am 40 now and happily married this October 12 for ten years.   My siblings are divorced or should be divorced and still struggling with relationships so I feel I did just fine.

I can relate to not living up to someone else's standards.  I suppose when I was younger like in my 20's and 30's I probable tried harder to do what the norm was for raising my kids, then I just decided that if I had good kids and I took care of them we would be happier than trying to do it someone else's way.  I quit comparing myself to others also.  Just brings you down.   The answer is no, can't do it anymore.

yeah i still in college and am 21 yrs old but i feel like my parents dont trust me. I that in their eyes I am young but I am growing up. How will i ever know how to live if they dont allow me too? i never understand that. They still try to control all my decisions. I really thought college was a time to learn and grow into my own, well that was a lie.
