maybe it's time to think outside the box? are you good at building anything your self or crafty? there's lots of place online you can sell things. You can do an in home day care other people always need childcare. start your own business cutting lawns, shovelling snow etc. pet walker. Isn't the riches guy in New York I believe he goes to peoples houses and cleans up their backyards after their pets. Soo many different ideas. Good Luck!

It depends on the job you want.  Are you being too picky?  Sometimes you have to lower your "standards" and throw pride out the door and take something you may have thought was "beneath" you until you can do better.

If you really wanted a job, you'd go out and search for one. It can't be that hard. Give your resume to many places, and don't be picky.

Because the republicans rule the house and senate, even though they would like you to blame everything on the democrats simply because the democrat president is in, no one gets that the republicans are in charge, therefore the rich get richer and the poor, get poorer. saying that there are no jobs.

Seriously, I don't mean to be mean but if you haven't found a job since 2006 there is something wrong with your skills and how you are presenting yourself.  Maybe you are using poor grammar online because it doesn't matter and it's just a message board.  If I were an employer and you gave me your resume with poor writing and spelling like your post or you spoke like that in an interview, I wouldn't hire you either.

You honestly cannot be that ignorant, can you?! Gee, maybe there is a very valid reason as to why so many Democrats lost their election bids and the Republican party regained House and Senate control. What about - never mind, this is NOT worth my time because you wouldn't admit your own naivete anyway.

There are most definitely jobs out there. They just happen to be 'beneath' far too many so I really don't have a ton of sympathy for a lot of people. They want the paycheck - it just seems it HAS to be on their own terms. If you can't feed your children, you can't afford your home, and things are going to get worse, you will take whatever you can get because it is better than nothing! If all you want is a handout and the people like me who have worked all their lives paying for YOU to live? Get in line. There is a 'long wait at the window for your order' though.....

I agree with you!   I have been trying to get a job for months.  I was being picky at first but then realized I better apply for any job I can find.  Which I have been doing for months and still no luck.
