Anyone tried Eggies??

I have never tried eggies because I have too many gadgets now don't need or want anymore.  I usually have no problems or issues with boiling eggs - rarely have a batch that doesn't want to peel which makes me crazy   but that is rare.  Just always make sure that I boil them at least 15 mins because I like mine really well done and try not to use extremely fresh eggs because I heard that is what makes them hard to peel now whether that is true or not - who knows.  I always crack them all over and then roll the egg around in my hand, supposedly that loosens the membrane and makes them easy to peel.  Don't know what I'm doing right or what is old wives tales but I rarely have trouble with them.

I bought them for my boyfriend for Christmas.  He's only used them once and said he followed the directions, but his eggs came out kind of soft.  No trouble getting them to come out though.

I like the comment about the eggs turnign out tye-dyed. That would make the kids laugh.

We use the Cuisinart egg steamer. You can get 7 hard boiled eggs perfect everytime. You can do soft-boiled and poached as well. Unless I see the eggies on a giveaway board, we're not likely to try them.

I have not tried eggies my mother got some for CHristmas because she asked for them, but the whole invention just seems like something has to go wrong with it. I can't see it working that well.

Yes I have tried them.  The tops of the eggs remain flat.  You can cook them soft boiled, hard ect.  Reminds me of poached eggs.  It's great not having to peal them, but they do tend to slightly stick to the sides so you still have that mess to clean.  I do like them.  I just forget that I have them and still boil and peel eggs.  I thought that when I purchased them that I was paying 5.00 but as the usually case with that store, the marked price doesn't reflect the scanned price, I ended up paying more for them than I wanted to.

I have tried them.  They do tend to stick to the sides.  But you hate peeling boiled eggs this is pretty good.

Always wanted to try em, just to see how well they work.
As it stands tho, it isn't something I actually need. I don't boil eggs that often, but when I do my eggs peel easily and the shell usually stays whole.

It works really well. My wife loves hardboiled eggs, but was forever overcooking them until they cracked and the whites oozed out or thurned the yolks green. The cuisinart comes with a measuring cup. You decide if you want soft, medium, or boiled eggs. then you decide how many you want 1-7. Then look on the scale on the side of the measuring cup and fill water to the correct line.
Be sure to add a drop or two of white vinegar to prevent lime (calcium) buildup on the cooker.
It works like a rice cooker. When the water is gone the alarm sounds. You need to turn the cooker off or it will keep on cooking after its alarm quits. There are three trays included for poached eggs. I don't use that too often, but I don't mind the texture at all. Someone that is a freak for perfect poached eggs wouldn't be using this gadget anyhow.

Its storage space is minimal. Given how easy it is to toss 7 eggs in there and walk off until the alarm beeps, this is a winner. We store the eggs in the shell in the refrigerator  until we eat them. The shell comes off very easily when the egg is cold.

I have never heard of eggies? hmm I must be living in the stone ages...i still have eggs that crack and have whites ooze out or the yolk is overdone, my x-mother in law has a cool glass egg timer you put it in with your eggs and it tells you  what stage the eggs are at. I have never been able to locate one of them like she has. I will be looking up eggies today on the web tho!

They actually have something similar to eggies at the dollar store (Dollar Tree) here in my neighborhood.  Usually those little gadgets work just as well as the real thing so if I were to try it I'd rather pay the $1.

$1.00 is better than $10.00... if you don't like the Dollar Tree ones... you can just toss them.. or take them to the goodwill. Not too much lost!!
