Oh yeah, and side walkers....you know, the folks who walk really slow and veer from side to side so you...can...not...get...around...them.  Grrr!

I work nights so I usually grocery shop after I get off work. Very few people and it's much easier to get in, get what I need and get out. I went about noon the other day and the place was like a zoo.

i hate it when a person in the 20 items or less express lane has exactly 20 items.

or more. What I hate even more is that the store won't say anything.
I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"

I do the same. I find an hour or so before closing is the best time for me.

The person who gets in the express lane with a cart full, when clearly it is marked 20 items or less, then when you mention this to them they say they will break it up in to transactions of 20 items! I have yet to see a cashier ask someone to leave their line for this, what is up with that? Are they not allowed to??

i don't buy tomatos in a grocery store,  i grow my own in the summer, and if i have to have one in cooler months i go to the produce store up the road from my house.  grocery store produce is overpriced, tasteless and not very attractive, because you're right, people handle them too much.

Wow! There Sure Is  Alot Of Kid Haters Here ,I Certainly Hope My Children Or Grandchildren Never Run Into You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoa!!!!  Nobody brought up the word "hate" except you so back it down a notch. Our society now uses the word "hate" to target people with a label that is demeaning.....like bully or hate crimes. All we are talking about is ill mannered children and the parents that enable them to be that way. Nobody likes misbehaved kids. I raised my son to have manners and he still does. He was not allowed to run around the store or throw a fit without me addressing it when he was a child.

I have three grandsons and they are raised the same way by my son who is now grown with his own family. Etiquette and manners are essential to teach children at an early age. You have a small window to instill these attributes. We have a generation+ of kids nowadays that have no respect or manners as they have had no discipline growing up. I blame the parents for this. I also blame parents for rebuking authority figures like teachers, etc., when they try to correct their child. They are teaching their child that they don't have to listen to anyone, and can be as rebellious as they want to be.....and they are!

Parents today are too lazy to teach their kids basic manners and respect for elders or authority figures. These kids naturally grow up thinking the world owes them and they become burdens on society or worse. If you are taking this as sensitive as you seem to be then I guess the shoe fits. If you throw a stone into a pack of dogs, the only one who yelps is the one hit.

Upscale restaurants are now banning children because nobody wants to hear screaming crying kids, or kids running around while you are out having a $50+ meal on a special occasion. I believe they are on the right track. There are other business's that are adopting this stance also. Who is to blame? The parents!! Why should everybody have to put up with unruly obnoxious kids because the parents are too lazy to do their jobs as parents?

My peeves are yelling kids in the store especially when the parent does nothing about it. I've seen this many times where the parent tunes out thier kids and completely ignore them. That is all well and good if you can do that but I can't do that. Please take the kid outside if they are screaming or have the other parent take them to the car, or get a sitter so you can get your groceries.

I hate when two people meet in the store to chat and coincidentally block an entire aisle. When you ask if you can pass they act like you are the rude one. Hey I'm at the store to shop if you want to chat with your long lost friend move to the side of the aisle or at least acknowledge you are blocking the way and make room when you see someone trying to pass.

As for the handled produce I don't remember ever seeing the produce that manhandled by other customers. But is does sound very rude and unfair if it is as bad as you say.

People who block the entire aisle with their cart and DO NOT MOVE IT when you are approaching them so you have to move it for them, then they finally decide to move the cart. Also, people who stare at the same section for 5 minutes and will not move so I can get the item I want. Plus people who don't have their money ready when paying (including using a card that doesn't work, writing a check, etc), holds up the line even more.

I've never noticed that at my store but it doesn't surprise me. I have issues with people who block the aisles.

Also I hate it when there are 30 registers and 2 are open with a hundred people in each row.
I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"

That's what the self checkouts are for.....to do it yourself, without the assistance of the checker. I myself will never use self checkout counters because that is taking someone's job. More and more the customer service industry is shrinking, and big companies are making the customer do the work now. I refuse to "pad" their bottom line while they raise prices weekly and get free labor from the public. No, No, No!!!
