do you prefer cd's or records

I like cds and I still have all of my old albums, the covers got wet during a hurricane , so most are destroyed. I think that it would be cool to go back to records. I do believe that everyone should put their pictures and important documents on disc.

I never actually owned any records so I will go with CD's.  I did have a few tapes from the early 90's though.

Digital is good for me.  If I want new music I hit iTunes.  CDs are going by way of the cassette tape and 8-track.  There are plenty of record 'purists' out there still... not sure if the sound is better or different though.

There's just something about vinyl. Some of the recordings are so much better on records than CD's. Especially if you have a really great sound system like a Pioneer turntable and speakers.

I like the sound off of vinyl but they are much more cumbersome to use so I usually stick with CDs (or digital). I know some audiophiles use special record players that they can connect to a computer and rip the vinyl music into a loss-less digital format to maintain the sound quality of vinyl in a user-friendly format. BTW, I heard somewhere that the Library of Congress uses records to store its music and other audio-media. Both magnetic tape (whether it be 8-track or cassette) can demagnetize easily or otherwise become damaged, and the coating on CDs deteriorate over time. Records are the only format that can best withstand aging and environmental factors.

I like CD's. I records take up too much room and it's hard to find a decent player, and they are not exactly playable in my vehicle. I do have a bunch of old records that I've picked up from garage sales, but right now I don't have a player.
I think it's unfortunate that mp3's are making CD's obsolete. If you do some shopping around it is a lot cheaper to buy music on CD rather than getting everything from Itunes, and you don't have to download the songs to your mp3 player. And I don't like going around with my ears full of ear buds, so then i have to have a set of speakers to plug the layer into so I don't have to be attached to it. Also, my vehicle doesn't have a hook up for mp3 players.
